Pempek

Finally i made my Pempek tho it left a bad taste in my hubby's mouth since he got sick when he ate it in Indonesia. Poor him. But well, not for me :-) Pempek is made from fish paste with tapioca flour. The sauce that perhaps made some people cant stand since its the combination of palm sugar, white vinegar plus chili. I got the recipe from http://www.resepnugraha.net/resep/detail/?no=309 tho i didn't use all the ingredients*since i didn't have* but just the main stuff.
Here is my recipe!

Ingredients :
1 cod fish fillet *quite big n long, i didn't weigh it* make it into paste using food processor
350 g-500g tapioca flour * it depends how much the fish, for me i added more tapioca flour so that i can shape the dough, coz its quite sticky, but be patient the taste is yummy tho*
1 tbsp of pepper
1 tbsp of fish sauce
1 tbsp of salt
1 block of chicken knorr
1 egg yolk
mix them all and shape the dough into balls or square or round. Fry in hot cooking oil.  *Don't fry them all. You can put the rest of them in the freezer*

the sauce :
1/2 palm sugar block
3 cups of water
2 tbsp white vinegar
4 cloves of garlic n 5 green chili peppers *make into paste or just grind them*
How to make : Prepare the pot. Put the water n palm sugar block till all dissolved. add the paste of chili and garlic. Add the white vinegar. bring them to boil and strain it.

How to serve : After you fry the dough till golden color, cut into smaller pieces. Prepare the cucumber n slice it into cube. Pour the sauce. Bon appetite!
