Home Made Kerupuk Nasi Kuning Plus Wortel

I rarely eating rice in USA so that I cook it occasionally and only little. Somehow that day I cooked yellow rice with too much water so I added more rice while it's cooking in the rice cooker lol but turned out still good tho, it's just in the perfect time I realized I put too much water and then added rice but then the result was too much rice I had.

I know It will be sitting quite a while in the fridge but since I know how to make use of left over so I'm "save". I feel bad If I have to throw away food but now I can do experiment in my kitchen since I got friend who's so creative in the kitchen who made home made Kerupuk from left over rice. Click this Home Made Kerupuk Nasi + wortel

Kerupuk?? Well here hubby said it's cracker or chips but it is not the same actually. Kerupuk is Kerupuk >_< Now he got it!. *funny when he said KERUPUK*

Kerupuk is made of tapioca flour mixed with fish, shrimps or veggies that have been cooked with some spices. Well that's how I explain since I know how to make it now. >_<

Here are some pics I had taken with my iphone during the process.

Blend the Left over rice that has been steamed for about 10min with 1 cup water and some spices

Mixed with tapioca flour and 1 egg

Add more tapioca flour till no more stick dough in the bowl

Shaped them * I make it small*

Boiled them till they are floating

Store them in the fridge over nite!

The process of Kerupuk is almost done!As soon as they are out from the fridge, sliced them as thin as possible. The over nite in the fridge makes it easier to slice them. Just make sure you have very good sharp knife and clean it once you see sticky left on it. Then start it again. Till all dough finish.

Yea it took a while to slice them manually. I used Ceramic knife that hubby got in Germany. It's very good knife. It doesn't need skill to slice them but I guess practice makes perfect. It's easy.
Perhaps you can do it using food processor with certain disk. I didn't try it tho.

After all done, hope you have enough sun shines to dry them or you can store them in the fridge.
My friend said it helps little to make them dry.

Florida is quite weird today. The hottest highest temperature in December!

The sun sometimes comes and goes today! but quite hot outside. Hope the sun could make them dry.

I will update this home made kerupuk, once I fry them.
Here is the upadate news ^^

Taraaaaaaaaaaaaaa... Kerupuk Nasi Kuning is done!
I fried some that were ready. Got to find more sun for the rest of them. Woohoo, I could eat this kerupuk with Lontong sayur, hmmm. Glad, Alhamdulillah!
