Pastel-Indonesian Empanada


Pastel is another yummy snack i like :-) my mom made this snack for her business back then when i was still little. I never helped her but eating it LOL well now i know how to make this esp with the cookie mold i got from my friend.

Ingredients for the skin
250 gr all purpose flour
50 gr margarine, melted
1 egg
1tsp of salt
50ml water

Mix all together, use rolling pin to make it flat n wide n put it in the cookie mold

Ingredients for the filling
0.5 lb ground beef
4 potatoes, peeled, cut into dice
4 carrots, peeled, cut into dice
3 Boiled eggs, cut into smaller pieces
Seasoning
2 cloves of garlic
salt n pepper for taste, grind them all


How to make :

Saute the seasoning with 1 tbsp of oil. add potatoes, then carrots till they are tender. Add the beef. Mixed all together. Put aside. When you are ready with the skin, add 1 spoon of the filling, add the pieces of boiled egg. Wrap it using the cookie molds or you can use it with ur hands well its hard tho need practice more :-)
Fried in hot cooking oil till golden brown. Served with green chili pepper or spicy peanut dressing!
